GAVIN
EMERSON. PRINCIPAL-ACADEMIC DIRECTOR
Gavin Emerson
is a founder member of the BST Foundation and has many
years experience in the fields of clinical hypnosis and
brief therapy. He has been instrumental in teaching mental
health care professionals in these areas and is primarily
responsible for designing the BST training programmes.
In conjunction with Dr Robert Dupe he has also developed
a number of training programmes in clinical hypnosis and
brief therapy that have subsequently been awarded post-graduate
credits for Psychiatrists, doctors & Nurses. He has
a specialist interest in psychosomatic medicine and the
ongoing education of health care professionals in this
field, this is reflected in his membership of a number
of medical and professional bodies. As well as teaching
for the Foundation Gavin Emerson lectures in clinical
hypnosis & brief therapy at several universities and
runs private practices at Harley Street-London and Wimbledon
(bst foundation-clinic).
He is a also
is regularly engaged as a consultant in brief therapy
for Medico- Legal cases of post traumatic stress at the
Brief
Strategic Therapy (Medico-Legal) Clinic in
London.
In addition
Gavin acts as a director of psychological strategy for
a prominent family law solicitors
advising on reducing the emotional impact on clients
and their families in family law cases (www.gelaw.co.uk).
DR.
ROBERT DUPE. MEDICAL DIRECTOR BA, BSc, FRSM, PhD, FSBST,
BCSHA, DCHyp
Robert Dupe is a co-founder and the medical director of
the Foundation. Robert lectures in Brief Strategic Therapy
and Clinical Hypnosis and provides relevant clinical input
for the Foundation's courses. He has spent considerable time
in the field of cardiovascular medicine and is a Fellow of
the Royal Society of Medicine. He also has a considerable
experience in the pharmaco-biology of psychosomatic illness
and applies the practice of clinical hypnosis and brief
strategic therapy within NHS and private settings.
Gavin Emerson and Robert Dupe are both engaged in an
advisory capacity to national organisations on behavioural
problems and appear on national television and in the press.
ANDY McCANN. DIRECTOR OF STUDIES
(Wales Region). BAHons, MA Ed PGCE, DCHyp, ACertCSHyp
GPQH MSBST.
Andy is the Director of Studies for
the BST Foundation for the Wales Region. He has a background
in sport and education and has worked as a teacher and
lecturer in both the school and university sectors. Andy
trained in clinical hypnotherapy with the BST Foundation
and is a Licensed Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner.
He sees private clients through clinical hypnotherapy
wales and has a particular interest in the application
of clinical hypnotherapy to sport and regularly works
in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and
sport coaches. In addition, Andy has written an acclaimed
healthcare book which has been released worldwide and
is a commissioned writer for the Times (Educational Supplement).
In addition he is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of
Medicine.
DR. TIG CALVERT.
BSc. PhD CPsychol. MSBST. DCHyp.
Tig is an external
examiner for the BST Foundation. She is also a Senior
Lecturer in Neuropsychology at St Mary's College, Strawberry
Hill. With a healthcare background and a PhD in emotional
and behavioural problems following traumatic brain injury,
she currently specialises in how the brain produces and
responds to emotions, and the interaction between mind
and body particularly in relation to health. Tig runs
a number external CPD workshops for BST Foundation
students and other mental health care professionals, including
Mind Body Therapy, Understanding Mental Illness and a
Guide to the Brain. She runs two well established hypnotherapy
practices in Teddington
and Oxford utilising her academic and clinical skills
to help clients to overcome a range of issues in their
lives and develop their full potential.
Tig has appeared as an expert on a number of recent
TV programmes including, I Can Make You Thin and Diet
Doctors.
DR. RICHARD MARTIN. MBBS. FRCA. DCHyp.
MSBST.
Dr Richard Martin
is a Consultant In Paediatric Anaesthesia and Honorary
Senior Lecturer at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Having
graduated with distinction form the foundation’s practitioner
diploma course, he joined the faculty & associates
as a medical education adviser and external examiner.
While maintaining an interest in general applications
of clinical hypnotherapy, he has a particular interest
in performance enhancement, anger and stress management.
He has extensive experience and is an expert in the management

DR. K. SATHANANATHAN.CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST. MBBS, MRCP,
MRCPsych, DPM, MDCH.
Dr. Sathanathan is a Consultant Psychiatrist at the
Mayday University Hospital and has previously established a
successful NHS clinic for Medical Hypnotherapy. He is also
an examiner for the Clinical Hypnosis Practitioner Diploma.
DR. R. R. GODSAL.
CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST. MRCPsych.
Dr Godsall is a senior Consultant Psychiatrist and
psychotherapist. He is the senior examiner for the Brief
Strategic Therapy Diploma Course. Dr Godsall has written a
number of articles on brief strategic therapy that have
appeared in medical publications.

LUCY ATCHESON. BSc. (Hons) MSc. Psych. PhD. C. Psychol.DCHyp.MSBST
Dr Lucy Atcheson
is an accredited brief strategic therapist, clinical hypnotherapist
as well as a counselling psychologist, and a coaching
psychologist. Dr Lucy has seven years of experience working
as a psychologist, five of these have been working in
independent practice. She is also a qualified as a critical
incident stress management practitioner since 2003. She
joined the faculty & associates as a psychological
specialist and external examiner. Dr Lucy runs her own
practice in Harley Street, London. Lucy has written two
books: Dr Lucy Atcheson's Guide to Perfect Relationships,
and Free Yourself From Fear (both published by Hay House).
Lucy specialises in working with panic disorders and has

Lucy is a regular contributor on the radio and in the
national press, she has also made several television appearances.
DR RIDHEESH
AHYA. MBBS. MD. CTM. MRCPath. DCHyp.
Dr Ridheesh
Ahya has been employed as a Consultant Haematologist with
the Velindre NHS Trust in Wales for a number of years.
Having graduated form the foundation's practitioner diploma
course, he is currently a specialist medical adviser and
external examiner. He is also an active associate therapist
with Clinical Hypnotherapy Wales. While continuing practice
in general applications of clinical hypnotherapy, he has
a particular interest in specific medical conditions including
cancer, pain, anxiety and stress.
DR.
KARL DREWEK BSc (Hons), PhD (Psych), DCHyp, MSBST, FRSA
Dr Karl Drewek is a clinical hypnotherapist and brief
strategic therapist with a private practice in Harley
Street. Having trained at the BST Foundation, he is now
a course lecturer and student supervisor. Karl's background
includes ten years experience as an independent consultant
to the healthcare industry, improving the performance
of sales and marketing teams and providing executive coaching.
With a doctorate in psychopharmacogenetics, he is also
commissioned by healthcare companies to meet with experts
to report on their recent advances in medical research
and neuroscience. He has published several books for psychiatrists
and neurologists.
JOHN HOARE.
DCHyp MSBST,BCSHA
John Hoare is
one of the BST Foundations most experienced lecturers.
John has studied and practiced clinical hypnosis, brief
strategic therapy and psychotherapy for many years. He
runs a number of successful practices in South London
and regularly works in conjunction with other health care
professionals receiving direct referrals from GPs.
FELIX ECONOMAKIS. BA(hons), Dipl.Psych., MSc.,
PG.Dipl.Psychol., Dipl.Hyp. PG.Dipl.Hyp., SBST, BSCH, BPS.
Felix is a Chartered Psychologist and has worked in
primary care in large Group Practices for over six years, as
well as having worked in secondary care at the Maudsley
Hospital for over two years. He currently divides his time
between working as a consultant psychologist for the NHS in
a large Group Practice on Mondays and Tuesdays, and with his
private patients in the remainder of the week. In addition
to holding several diplomas and post-graduate diplomas in
clinical hypnosis with several organisations, he has also
trained in Neur olinguistic Programming and Brief Strategic
Therapy. He is now a regular lecturer on the clinical
hypnosis course. Felix recently appeared in BBC 3's "Panic
Room" a 6-part series where he successfully treated 6 people
with severe phobias. Felix was later challenged by a
journalist from the Daily Mirror to treat her phobia of
pigeons, which he did in one session.
DAMIAN HAMILL.

Damian Hamill
has been interested in the fields of hypnosis and human
change for over fifteen years. After qualifying in 1997
he has studied to an Advanced Level with the BST Foundation.
Damian has also trained in Symbolic Modelling, an approach
derived from the metaphor therapy. Damian is a therapist
in private practice and provides student supervision for
the BST Foundation and a its courses .Damian is also involved
in a number of ongoing book projects on the subject of
clinical hypnosis and human change.

ZEE
JABBAR. Director of Studies (Spain) BA (Hons). DCHyp.
MSBST.
Zee Jabbar has
been a teacher for twenty years and now lives and works
in the Spanish Pyrenees. He is an Advanced graduate of
the BST Foundation and after working for it in London
both as a course lecturer and student supervisor is now
the Director of the BST Programme in Spain. His interests
include understanding the way words can heal and communicating
the art of hypnotherapy to students.
DAVE COSTELLO
BA(Hons) DipCOT DCHyp GPQH MSBST.
Dave Costello
has been an Occupational Therapist for 17 years, and has
worked in a variety of clinical areas in mental health
in the NHS. He went on to specialise in vocational rehabilitation,
and worked for a national pilot in job retention in Bristol,
where he helped to deliver training to some 30 Trusts
and Voluntary Sector providers around the UK in job retention
case management. Dave is continuing this work in Wales,
and is the lead OT for the Healthy Minds at Work Equal
Programme. Dave is also a guest lecturer at the University
of West of England. In recent years Dave has worked outside
the context of the NHS, and has designed and delivered
Condition Management Programmes for Depression through
the New Deal, as well as providing rehabilitation and
case management to the Insurance industry, supporting
and enabling individuals to return to work following illness
or injury. Dave regularly utilises clinical hypnotherapy
in addition to employing more traditional therapeutic
approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy and solution
focused approaches. He is a hypnotherapist with Clinical
Hypnotherapy Wales and a teaching associate for the BST
Foundation.
GLENDA LEWIS RGN DCHyp MSBST
Glenda is a Registered General Nurse with more than
thirty years of clinical experience. For the past eighteen
years she has worked in the primary health care sector as a
practice nurse. Assessing the needs of clients with chronic
illnesses is a major aspect of her role. This entails
formulating and promoting positive life style changes to
enhance clients’ health and well-being. She is a member of
the R.C.N. (Royal College of Nursing) the N.M.C. (Nurses and
Midwives Council) and the Society of Brief and Strategic
Hypnotherapists. In addition, Glenda is a healthcare adviser
to Clinical Hypnotherapy Wales and the BST Foundation. She
also sees private clients in Pontarddulais, Swansea.
DAPHNE LEGGETTER.
BA (Hons). DCHyp. BST Dip. FSBST.
Daphne is a senior supervision and a senior lecturer for
the BST Foundation. She has gained diplomas with honours in
clinical hypnotherapy, brief strategic therapy and stress
management. Daphne runs a busy private practice in Richmond,
specialising in the treatment of anxiety based problems. She
is a lecturer on the clinical hypnosis course and is
actively involved in all aspects of student training and
development. In addition Daphne is an executive board member
of the Society of Brief Strategic Therapists.
YOLANDA RENJIFO

Yolanda Renjifo is a psychologist
and advisor. She is a graduate member of the British Psychological
Society. She is also a member and a registered Psychotherapist
with the National Centre for Eating Disorders and Society
of Brief Strategic Therapists; she is member of the The
United Kingdom Association for Psychotherapy Intergration
UKAPI.
MARK
PINCHES. MSc. BSc (hon) DipEHP. DCHyp. SBST
Mark is performance
coach and clinical hypnotherapist with an academic background
specialising in Psychology and focusing on the relationship
between the mind and body. Mark is committed to maximising
individual, team and corporate wellbeing and performance
in a wide range of business, management, sport and personal
coaching scenarios. He has gained over 25 years experience
in successfully applying his unique coaching principles
in a wide range of fields ranging from Formula One Motor
Racing and professional sport, Police, Fire & Rescue
Services, the Armed Forces, Banking, Information &
Communications Technology, Education, Local Government,
Health Care, Insurance, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing
and the Legal Profession. Mark is a teaching associate
on the BST Foundation’s clinical hypnotherapy courses.
ALISON HOLLOWAY. BSc (Hons) DCHyp
MSBST
Alison trained
in Cardiff as a speech and language therapist. She is
employed by North Glamorgan NHS Trust and also works independently
in South Wales; based in Newport. She is a specialist
in the area of stammering, public speaking, confidence
building and self esteem issues. Alison includes hypnotherapy
in her independent practice having studied with the BST
Foundation who she has since joined as a teaching associate.
Dr
David Kraft (Dip.Cl.Psy).DCHyp. A.Cert.CSHyp
Dr
David Kraft's approach combines psychotherapy with
hypnotherapy. He has been researching psychotherapy and
clinical hypnosis for several years and, together with
his father, Dr Thomas Kraft, he has written articles on
driving phobia, covert sensitization, anxiety disorders,
sleep disturbances, hyperhidrosis, sexual disorders and
IBS. He has a diploma in clinical psychology . He trained
at the BST Foundation in London and has obtained both
the diploma in Clinical Hypnosis , awarded with distinction,
and the Advanced Certificate in Clinical and Strategic
Hypnosis and in addition he is a student supervisor for
the BST Foundation.
DR ROBERT J D BEATTIE BSc, D Phil, Administration.
Bob Beattie is the administration manager for the BST
Foundation providing professional administrative systems, he
plays an integral role in the course admin staff. Bob also
has 35 years wide-ranging consultancy and business
management experience, with a successful track record in
several different professional roles for clients in UK and
abroad, including : project management; devising and
effecting innovative IS strategies and results-orientated
operating practices; development and expansion of a
medium-sized, multi-disciplinary management consultancy.
