Brief Strategic Therapy & Clinical Hypnosis Foundation

The Brief Strategic Therapy & Clinical Hypnosis (BST) Foundation was established in response to the increasing demand for ethical and professionally trained therapists in the field of clinical hypnosis. The clinical hypnosis training programme has been developed by experts in the field and is based on current research and a wealth of practical experience, incorporating aspects of psychiatry, psychology, counselling and modern medicine.

The Foundation provides an exceptional opportunity to learn clinical hypnotherapy, particularly due to the support and skills provided by the teaching staff who have international reputations in clinical hypnosis and related fields. St Mary’s University College has joined in collaboration with the BST Foundation to provide a Certificate of Higher Education, Diploma of Higher Education and BSc (Hons) Degree in Clinical Hypnosis thereby allowing students to gain a higher education qualification through vocational training.

The Diploma of Higher Education & BSc (Hons) in Clinical Hypnosis offered by St Mary’s University College developed in conjunction  with the BST Foundation is the only recognised undergraduate academic course in clinical hypnosis in the UK. The course is also recognised by many to be the most focused and practically based practitioner training course available. In addition after completing the under graduate programme there may also be opportunities to progress to post graduate qualifications including PhD in Clinical Hypnosis.

The Foundation's courses have been recognised by NHS bodies for continued professional development for many medical and mental health care workers. In addition, a number of royal colleges for psychiatry, medicine, nursing & higher education have previously validated the Foundation's courses.

The Foundation prides itself on it's student centred approach to teaching, placing a strong emphasis on the development of practical skills, current theory, assessment and ongoing supervision. Therefore ensuring that each student maximises their potential and that they are taught to the highest practical and ethical standards.

The BST Foundation has also gained wide recognition for its work promoting the ethical use of clinical hypnosis and brief therapy and regularly acts in a advisory capacity for television and national press.
